   BLUE CRUISE ZONES - BODRUM
Loryma We anchor in Loryma, a wonderful bay and historical place. Loryma (Bozukkale) is located on the Turkish side of Marmaris gateway where the Aegean and Mediterranean joins. That means when we arrive at Loryma we have travelled all the bays of the Gulf of Hisaronu. Loryma originates from Luwi and Karyia languages and has Hellenistic meaning..

Information about the history and foundation of the town is inadequate. It is mentioned by Thoukydides and some other ancient times writers as a country at the opposite side of Rhodes. Strabon mentioned it in Karia as a rough coastline after Physkos. Stephanos of Byzantine also claimed that there is a harbor in Rhodes with the same name.

Loryma was never a significant town in ancient times. The navy of Athens stayed here for the night after returning from Samos Island to Simi Island. Also the navy of Antigonos gathered here after an unsuccessful war. An adequate surface survey has never been conducted in Loryma.
Today stones of the architectural structures in the town are scattered around. Only some parts of the castle, at the doorway of the bay stood up. The castle is 120 m high and 10 m width and its walls are 3m thick.

Although towers are pulled down, seeing the nine towers it is understood that the ones in the corner were round. From the scriptures excavated into rocks it is understood that the town was devoted to Zeus Atabyrios, the specific god of Rhodes, but there is no information as to whether he had a temple or not. On a hill with a view of the bay, the ruins of a castle with some standing walls attracts attention.

The first point to call at after Loryma (Bozukkale) is Korsan Koyu (Bay of Pirates) and other ports and bays we will see as we proceed are: Serçe Harbor, Arabian Island, Klise Koyu (Bay of Church), Ciftlik Adasi, Kadirga Koyu (Kadirga Bay),Turunc, Kumlu Buk, Yildiz Adasi (Star Island), Cennet Adasi (Paradise Island), Marmaris Harbor;
